Winter Growth Groups, April-June, 2008
Love and Respect Growth Group
Ever heard of the national marriage conference "Love & Respect"? It's the best marriage conference that we
are aware of. And what's more, they sell the DVDs so people can get the content without actually going to the conference!
This group is open to everyone, whether you are married or not, or whether your spouse attends or not. Join us for laughter,
discussion, music, and food. No childcare is provided at this group.
Led by Tom and Elaine Starkjohn , this group will meet for about ten weeks, starting April 13th. We meet Sunday evenings
from 7-9pm at the Bull Residents in Lester Prairie. Directions: As you head south out of Lester on Hwy 1 and curve west,
keep going until you are nearly at the point where the Hwy curves south again. They are the last driveway on the north side
of the road: the house number is 4646.
The Sovereignty of God
Every wonder what it means the our God is a "sovereign" God? This group is exploring sovereignty in the Bible -
looking at all sorts of Bible passages to better understand this issue.
Childcare is provided here, so bring your young children and spend time with us! We typically sing together with the
children, enjoy refreshments together, and then while the young children go downstairs, the older children and adults study
the Bible together and pray.
This group is led by Aaron Lee and meets at Chris and Gina Thesings home (305 Westgate Drive in Winsted). We meet on
Wednesday nights from 7-9:30pm. If you have any questions, call Aaron at 952-495-0102.
The Topical Group
This is our "loose group" - we don't have much of an agenda here other than discussing current events, biblical
ethics, and anything else that hits our fancy. Sometimes we'll watch a DVD dealing with a religious theme. Maybe will talk
about something in the recent news. Often it's been on an ethical issue.
This group is geared towards the younger crowd - junior high through college, although anyone is welcome. Like the other
groups, we have music, discussion, and prayer. We meet at the Starkjohn house (318 Linden Ave West in Winsted) from 7:30-9:30pm
on Saturday nights.
Apologetics.
Jim Neff will be leading a Growth Group which will study some apologetics questions. Questions like, "How do we know
Jesus was a real person?" and, "How can we trust the Bible?". Of course, you know there will be plenty of
time for prayer and testimony and encouragement with the Neffs, so please consider joining this group. This group meets at
the Neff's residence on Tuesdays from 7-9pm.
The Book of Acts
Stan and Sharon Diers are leading a Growth Group which will be watching the DVD of Acts produced by the "Visual Bible".
Join us as we watch a portion of the book and then open our Bibles and discuss the book. Call Stan or Sharon for more information:
